It’s tile & mat washing day! 🫧 (x 6 sets)

Just a little glimpse into what goes into taking care of all of my mahjong materials and preparing for open play events and lessons. 🫶🏼

@themahjongline tile washing instructions:
• Spot clean with a damp microfiber cloth using cold water
• For a more thorough clean, rinse the tiles with cold water and gently dry them
• Do not use soap! Soap can damage the acrylic and inks.

My mat washing routine:
• Wash on cold
• Lay flat to dry (@themahjongline recommendation for drying)
• I personally have put them in the dryer for a few minutes to fully dry and have not had issues!
• I use a gentle stain remover spray when needed

A Sunday well spent playing mahjong @mimisneedlepoint! I loved meeting so many new Dallas friends, spending time at my sister and cousin’s gorgeous store, and seeing these two hobbies collide.

@madelinesalford says the Venn diagram of people who needlepoint and people who play mahjong is just a circle. 😆 And guess who finally started her first needlepoint project? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Turns out “grandma hobbies” run in the family 💗🧵🀄️

I spent the weekend in Dallas celebrating the grand opening of my sister and cousin’s new needlepoint shop, Mimi’s Needlepoint, and it was such an incredible success all around. There was a line down the block and around the corner waiting for the doors to open!

They’ve poured so much heart and hard work into this, and it shows in every detail. Getting to help behind the counter and see their dream in action was so special. I also loved meeting so many wonderful people- the needlepoint community is amazing, and I think it *might* be time for me to join the club.

I absolutely love that this year my sister and I both built businesses centered around two timeless hobbies that bring people together and build community in such a beautiful way. Mahjong 🤝 Needlepoint.
